The neighborhood association held their regular elections for the board of directors in August. Although Martha de Sánchez was reelected as president, other leadership positions have changed. The new board is already quite active!
During their first meeting on August 25th, board members began to develop a manual that will outline how the community center will be managed and maintained on a day-to-day basis. They are developing a set of rules, which a committee will be in charge of monitoring. On August 30th, they hosted a general assembly meeting to which all community members were invited. They presented their ideas about how the community center will be run and listened to feedback from the assembly participants. They will take into account these ideas as they continue to develop the manual.
We congratulate the new board of directors on their dedication to making sure that the community center will be a space that the community both uses and respects for many generations.
