Habitat El Salvador is proud to announce that Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has signed on as the newest partner in the Strengthening the Getsemaní Community (SGC) project!  As you might already know, Thrivent Financial, a financial services company in the United States, has been working with Habitat El Salvador over the last two years to build a community in the neighboring department of Santa Ana.  This community, named Villa Esperanza, will be home to 75 low-income, landless families.  Thrivent Financial has not only provided funding for this project, but has also sent over 50 teams of volunteers to help build the homes!  Construction will be finished by the end of September, although the majority of families have already moved into their new homes.

We are pleased that the completion of the Villa Esperanza project does not conclude our relationship with Thrivent Financial.  They will provide funding, volunteers, and prayers for the SGC project, and we are looking forward to another successful year of partnership.  For more information about Thrivent Financial’s commitment to Habitat El Salvador, please visit their website (http://www.thriventbuilds.com/worldwide/elsalvador/index.html).

Un Nuevo Socio!

Hábitat El Salvador se alegra al anunciar que Thrivent Financial for Luterans (Financiero para Luteranos) se ha comprometido como un nuevo socio para el proyecto Fortaleciendo la Comunidad Getsemaní! Thrivent Financial, una compañía de servicios financieros basado en los Estados Unidos, ha estado trabajando con Hábitat El Salvador durante los últimos dos años para construir una comunidad en Santa Ana.  Esta comunidad, llamada Villa Esperanza, albergará 75 familias de escasos recursos y sin tierra.  Thrivent Financial  ha provisto apoyo financiero para este proyecto, además de mandar a más de 50 brigadas de voluntarios a construir las casas!  La construcción se terminará en septiembre, aunque la mayoría de las familias ya están viviendo en sus nuevas casas.
